Organization (2013-2015)
Selwa Ahmadieh - President
Selwa was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. She is married to Shawkat Ahmadieh and they are blessed with three children, Nabeel, Ameera, and Sameer.

She has been an active member of the ADS all her life and has served on the Washington Chapter Board since her college years.

Selwa is currently serving at a National capacity on the National Membership Committee and a Co-founder of YADS (Young American Druze Sisters).

Selwa graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Radiation Oncology, and worked at William Beaumont hospital in Royal Oak, MI and Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA before leaving her profession to be with her children.

She is now looking forward to serve her Druze community that has been a big part of her life.
Walid Zaineldeen - Vice President
Since his move to the Washington, DC area from Beirut 15 years ago, Walid has been an avid and active member of the ADS. He is a keen believer in the community and is determined to promote its mission, faith and values.

In addition to being a successful PM at one of the most prominent construction companies in DC, Walid is committed to serve the ADS and contribute in preserving its heritage and culture while promoting its progress.

Amal Abdul-Baki - Treasurer
Amal has lived in the Washington DC area for the over 15 Years. She is married to Monah Abdul-Baki and they have two beautiful children, Salem and Sarah.

Amal is a graduate of George Mason University and held a Certified Public Accountant designation in the Commonwealth of Virginia Since 2001. She is very honored to be part of the ADS family.
Nadine Aboushakra - Executive Administrator
Nadine graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) with a BA in Business Administration. Before moving back to DC in 2014, She was a Relationship Manager at the Corporate & Commercial department at Bank Audi.

Nadine is currently a project manager with CODE Plus, a software engineering firm, and is working on her Project Management Professional (PMP).

She is married to Bassam Aboushakra since 2008 and they have 2 beautiful kids, Tammer (5 yrs) and Karma (2 yrs).

Nadine is looking forward to be an active member of the ADS family, and to serve the Druze Community and promote our shared culture and legacy.
Issam Ackley Aboulhoson - Immediate Previous President
Issam is a retired federal employee after 36 years of government service as a budget officer in the Department of Health and Human Services. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration and International Affairs. He speaks two languages, Spanish and Arabic, besides English.

Issam was born in Bolivia, South America, married to Majida Jamal Eddine Ackley, who has two children, Fadi and Naim, and a grand daughter, Lara. Issam has two children, Aimee and Jeffrey, and their spouses, Aaron and Rebecca, and four beautiful grand children, Landon, Emerson, Hudson, and Eliza.

Issam held various positions in social organization. President of the Optimist Club of Manassas, Lt.GOVERNOR Of Optimist international/Capitol Virginia District overseeing seven clubs in the Washington metropolitan area. Director of International Affairs/Capitol Virginia District. Awarded Optimist of the year 1993 by the Capital Virginia district.

Issam is a runner who competes in races throughout the year. He loves all types of sports. Issam is committed to the concept of the Tawhid in our Druze faith.

Ryan Abijomma - ADYA Director

Ryan is a junior at the University of Maryland, Baltimore county. He is currently studying Predentistry and Biology with a minor in Aging services. Ryan enjoys working and serving with the ADS and ADYA, and hopes to continue to help the community grow.

Hana Sangid - ADYA Co-Chair

Hana is currently a sophomore at George Mason University. She is studying finance and accounting in the hopes of one day going to law school. Hana strives to do all she can to help move the community forward and maintain a unified organization.
Amal Saleh
Amal is married to Anwar Saleh and they have two children, Aiman and Rola. They live in Beltsville, MD and have been residents of that state for almost 25 years. She and her family have also been active ADS members during that time.

Amal is looking forward to serving our community.
Ibtissam Fayyad
Ibtissam is married to Riad (Sami) Fayyad and they have two children, Basil and Weesam. They live in Alexandria, VA. Ibtissam works for a big financial institution since 1998, enjoys reading, walking and knitting.

Ibtissam is honored to be an ADS board member, and looking forward to serving our community.

Sara El-Hakim Kaassamani
Sara moved to Houston, TX from Beirut about 8 years ago to attend graduate school. She then moved to the Washington, DC area after getting married to Amid Kaassamani.

Sara is an energy economist and consultant working at a global consultancy firm in Washington, DC. She completed her BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut, and has multiple Masters Degrees from Rice University in Economics, Political Science, and Statistics.

Sara enjoys cooking, travelling, exercising and staying active. She is honored to be part of the ADS and is looking forward to preserving and moving forward our great community.
Shadi Mokarem
Shadi has served on multiple ADS DC Chapter board terms. He was the treasurer from 2011-2013. He looks forward to bringing the Druze community closer together.

By representing you, our community, it is important that you keep us informed of your needs as a member of the Druze faith, and of the challenges that maybe facing you as a family. Your concerns and feedback are always welcome and will certainly be addressed.
Your involvement in this society is crucial for its growth and prosperity. We owe it to our children to provide them with a solid community of friends and family with whom they can interact, share, and learn.
